TFSS Apple Program

An apple a day…

Many families living in poverty simply cannot afford the fruits and vegetables essential for their children’s growth and health. Thanks to the generosity of caring individuals and organizations, the Toronto Foundation for Student Success provides over one million apples a year to students that need them most.

The TFSS Apple Program works directly with Ontario growers to purchase local apples inexpensively. As a result, it only takes about 10¢ to place a nutritious, delicious apple into the hands of an appreciative child.

The Apple Program currently reaches close to 150 schools. Teachers report that the Apple Program has resulted in fewer colds, less time off school due to illness, and greater concentration in the classroom.

"Thank you. We are lucky you give us snacks because some people do not have breakfast."
