The Music Opportunity Fund.

TDSB employees in our schools can apply for assistance from the Music Opportunity Fund through our application form.

music classMusic programs provide a unique enriched experience for children that deepens their musical knowledge and skills and builds self-confidence and self-esteem through practice, performance and through success. Research has shown that music has the power to engage young people and to influence their lives. Music programs make a positive contribution to the school experience for many children in the Toronto District School Board.

Each year thousands of our students participate in school-based and Board-wide music events, festivals and concerts. These opportunities enable our students to go beyond the fundamentals taught in the classroom. However, enriched musical experiences such as all-city ensembles, music retreats, festivals and music camps can be unaffordable for many TDSB students. The Music Opportunity Fund has been established to ensure individual students with limited financial resources have equitable access to school-based and Board-wide music events, festivals and concerts.

All of your donations and funds raised through charitable events organized through the TDSB Music Department will be directed to the Music Opportunity Fund. This fund will support our less fortunate students and will help ensure they reach their full potential to be successful in school and in their lives.
